December 2007
Dear
Parents
Please find enclosed the
Ofsted Inspection report
on The
Cooper School, following our recent Inspection which took
place on 21st and 22nd November 2007.
As a
school community, we are very pleased with the Inspection
report not only in that it clearly states that Cooper is a
good school but because this judgement supports our own
views and assessments of the school's strengths and areas for
development as set out in our self-evaluation form. Indeed,
the new Inspection framework centres around the school’s
processes for self-evaluation in terms of recognition of its
strengths, identification of areas for improvement and the
extent to which the school has the capacity for further
improvement. The report makes clear that the school has
made recent and significant improvements in a whole raft of
areas but, as significantly, that we recognise that the
process of school improvement is an ongoing one and that we
have well developed plans in place to sustain this rate of
progress.
Throughout the report there are regular comments which
acknowledge the work that all of our staff are doing to
provide a first class education for our students and I am
especially pleased that so many people at the school and in
the community have contributed so positively towards such a
good report. It is a real testament to the hard work
everyone has put in to moving the school forwards since the
last Inspection.
Finally I would like to take this opportunity of thanking
yourselves, as parents/guardians of our young people, for
your continuing support of The Cooper School. As a
community we can be rightfully pleased that this inspection
has allowed the school to prove that, with high
expectations, standards will continue to rise at the school.
Yours sincerely
B J
